Athlete Mentorship and Readiness Camps

Major Program Partner

Program Support Partner

A new Athlete Wellbeing and Support initiative for 2024-2025, the South West Sydney Academy of Sport has partnered with MAPP (Motivation and Performance Partners) and Readiness Camps to provide athletes the opportunity to undertake advanced Athlete Leadership through both online education and support, and by attending Readiness and Performance Camps in addition to their Academy program.

Readiness Camps

Readiness Camps include between 3 to 5 days of high-quality targeted athlete support by combining the thrill of sports with the transformative power of mindset and performance coaching, aimed at cultivating a greater self-confidence, mental fortitude, and leadership skills to propel you toward success in your chosen sport, and for life, all while forming bonds with fellow athletes that will extend far beyond the camp.

The first of these "Readiness Camps" is scheduled for September 2024, with the Academy collaborating with MAPP and Readiness Camps to hold a "Snow Readiness Camp" at Jindabyne, at a heavily subsidised cost.

Inside this Snow Readiness Camp, athletes will be provided with the strategies, tools, and support needed to thrive under pressure with mindset and performance coaching sessions EVERY SINGLE DAY (across the five day camp); as well as, having some of the best snowboard coaches in Australia teaching you how to shred! Accommodation, meals, equipment hire, mindset and snowboarding coaching and a five-day lift pass at Thredbo are included in the subsidised cost.

The Academy is exploring the opportunity to conduct an Exclusive Academy Readiness Camp for athletes in 2025, along with utilising MAPP's Performance Camp structure for coaching staff to use within their squad programs.

Advanced Athlete Mentorship

The Academy will be releasing opportunities for athletes to undertake a dedicated 10-week online zoom training in Athlete Leadership with MAPP early in 2025, with athletes able to connect with the highly experienced team at MAPP to gain additional leadership skills, tips and techniques; along with athlete mentoring within an online group environment of fellow peer athletes.
