Program Summary
In recognition of a significant number of training and development events participated in by potential Academy athletes, local clubs, and Academy coaching staff during the latter part of 2024, the Academy has decided it is in the best interests of all parties to delay the trials and selection process for the 2024-2025 AFLW Program.
Further recognition of programs such as the GWS Giants AFLW Academy program has been taken into consideration to allow appropriate planning for a restructured AFL Women's program to support athletes pre and during their representative team commitments in 2025.
This therefore will result in the Academy AFL Women's Program to be rescheduled to an anticipated commencement date in early 2025.
Further information on the proposed changes and timeline for the AFL Women's Program will be announced in due course throughout the latter part of 2024.
