Academy Netball Program set to scoreWritten on the 25 September 2015 by SWSAS The South West Sydney Academy of Sport netball program is one of the largest and most successful programs the Academy provides. With the netball trial underway this week, the Academy received an extraordinary number of athlete submissions; which proved a difficult task for the selectors. There are exciting times ahead for the program with the appointment of a new head coach, Van Nguyen, who will be stepping into the 'big shoes' of the Academy's past highly successful head coach Jaqua Heddle. The Academy is confident that Nguyen will put her own personal stamp on the program and continue its high level of representative athlete development. She is currently a representative coach with Liverpool Netball Association and has been involved within the Academy for the past 3 years. The Academy will continue to specialise in athlete development through the provision of high quality skill and physical training, as well as quality educational components. The coming year will have an increased focus on sports psychology, media danger, nutrition, public presentation and also self-massage and injury prevention at the South West Sydney Institute of TAFE, Macquarie Fields as well as podiatry in conjunction with the Western Sydney University, Campbelltown Campus.
