The Academy program is provided in partnership with the Jack Newton Junior Golf Foundation and Golf NSW to assist in effectively providing a pathway for young golfers. Gifted young golfer Tim Ryan was recently awarded a 'Jack Newton Junior Golf Foundation and Titleist/FootJoy' Regional Academy of Sport major scholarship. As the winner, Tim will receive a wide array of Titleist/FootJoy products to support his ongoing personal development as he tee's off his 2015/2016 SWSAS season. Tim received the award based on his efforts across the 2014/2015 year, including highlights such as being the boy's nett winner at the Macarthur Regional Schools Championships and also runner up in the scratch category. Tim was also placed 9th in the boys 14 years scratch, 4th in the nett category and 15th overall at the Harvey Norman Sub Junior 'Week of Golf', a state wide event. Tim's current golfing aims include continuing to lower his handicap with a view to being a NSW junior representative. Academy team-mate James Anderson was also acknowledged by 'Jack Newton Junior Golf Foundation and Titleist/FootJoy' and received a similar golf scholarship for his commitment to the SWSAS program and his hard work throughout 2015. The Academy program will provide athletes access to elite training facilities including the Australian College of Elite Golf (ACEG), at its new and spectacular high performance training centre. Athletes will also receive access to elite coaching, including the opportunity to be coached with new technologies including swing analysis technology and launch monitoring assessment equipment, as well as using the SAM Putt Lab and balance plates.
